See you at the Race on Monday!

Hi Everyone,  our online registration is now closed.  Please plan to come on Monday to register for the race.  The fee is still $20 per runner.  We want as many people as possible to come!  Plan to get there early–people often get there as early as 7:15.

We have lots of new runners this year who have never participated in a road race.  We would like to encourage the seasoned runners to welcome the newcomers and help us by answering their questions or directing them to one of the Road Race Staff in the bright yellow shirts.

We also want to remind all runners and walkers and runners who are coming to support St. Charles:  Celebrate the moment that you cross the finish line!  It is a great accomplishment to complete a 5k!  There are many people in the world who are not physically able to walk or run a 5k.  Some of you who may have read my blog here a few years ago know that I am one of those:  I used to be a runner but I am not able to run any more.  So it means the world to me to see every single one of you cross that finish line!

Last year lots of walkers never went through the finish line, and we think it’s because the finish line was not marked clearly enough.  This year we are adding a lot more attention to the final home stretch with a huge balloon and banner, and by roping off the last 200 feet to keep the way clear.

Everyone who finishes early, let’s keep cheering on the walkers who have come to show their support to St. Charles!  We sincerely thank everyone who comes out to our race!
